The LEGACY of MARCUS GARVEY

In 1919, 100 years ago, we were in the heart of the Harlem Renaissance. This was just 50 years after the legal ending of slavery African people in the US were organized and ready for self governance. This movement was led by the great Marcus Garvey the shinning pillar of hope, captured the vision and the imagination of over 1 million Black people to lift themselves up out of the boroughs of plantations and factories and set their eyes on Africa, their Promise Land. At this time we had steam ships, schools, media outlets, healthcare systems and even our own passports. During the same time, Africa was deeply entrenched in European settler colonialism.

Today, is the first time since Marcus Garvey and African Independence that masses of Diasporan and continental Africans are prepared to reunite. It is the Generation of the RETURN. The DOOR of RETURN is in BÉNIN and was build decades ago by the Paramount King Meto Ahoussan IX. He has returned to give his children of the diaspora the proper welcome back home with Love, Healing, and Restoration. Garvey’s dream is becoming a reality today.
